1. Pay check and federal workers
Who keeps working?
“Extraordinary” government workers, employees whose work is considered necessary for the protection of lives and property, such as military personnel, border agents, TSA screeners and FBI agents, will remain at work without any salary until the shutdown continues. Some federal workers will continue to work with salaries, especially employees with Veterans Health Administration and Mail Career, because the US postal service is an independent entity that usually relys on taxes and products from their products and services.
A large part of several agencies have been torn down, which means they are not working or are not being paid because their jobs are not immediately considered “necessary” for government operations.
All federal employees who need or need to work without any salary during government shutdown will receive back salaries under a law passed in 2019. However, government contractors do not guarantee the payment of time to be wasted during the government’s closure.

“This government closure will paralyze the HUD and eliminate small housing works that were still doing,” Cornelison said in a statement. “Thousands of homes will be restrained – consumers will be unable to buy or sell homes in the flood zone – because financing for the national flood insurance program will end.”
