The data centers and processors who train AI are using more and more electricity every month. But how important is AI really important in the context of all energy use activities and industries?
How much is AI in demand for electricity?
The questions you send to the AI chat boot and the answers you get back are relatively low resolution. This is compared to zoom calls or streaming video, for example.
However, in the AI host server, the calculation is being done, which includes billions of numerical parameters. According to reports, more than 2.5 billion applications are made every day from the GPT host Openi.
These calculations have a tremendous amount of computing strength. Counting requires energy, it produces heat, and needs to cool the heat, which demands even more energy.
Computer servers used for AI training have been installed in 19 -inch standard racks. It is a vertical metal cabinet that is 19 inches (48 cm) width and 1.5m to 2 meters long.
At AI data centers, these racks host a row of highly densely constructed and modern computer chips. Liquid colements and fully submerged in firing, in 2025, one of them uses amazing 165 kW of energy. It is 10 % of the electricity produced by a fully, fully operational coal power station.

Statistics centers use 28.6GW energy at the end of 2024, not only used for AI, not only used for AI. They are about 18 large coal power plants.
It is estimated that it will increase to about 92GW by 2027. It is higher than the current electric generation capacity of countries like France, Spain and Italy.
After that, it is not surprising that big tech companies are investigating ways to create their strength. Both Microsoft and Google have allegedly invested the next -generation’s “modular” nuclear power. This will include keeping nuclear reactors out of the site and then shipping and sitting with their data centers.
Petition shows that by 2030, data centers will use 4 % of global energy demand. According to the analysis, they are being predicted that they will use 8 % of national demand.
AI data centers are the most energy infrastructure ever. How many resources do our resources will eventually rely on how long the AI bubbles continue?
