Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) released its October 2025 today A review of financial stabilityProviding a comprehensive overview of the health and flexibility of the Australian financial system.

The review highlights that the Australian financial system is in a well -positioned position to navigate the high global uncertainty.

RBA sees the greatest dangers of financial stability coming from abroad:

  • The level of high and growing public debt among major economies.
  • Increased asset prices and benefit in global markets.
  • Increases geographical political and operational threats.

However, the RBA finds that Australian families, businesses and banks have been well kept well for the most shock of the weather.

  • Most of the households have maintained payments with mortgages and have made savings buffers.
  • Many businesses have set up financial buffers.
  • The Australian banks maintain high levels of capital and liquidity, and are in their position to support the economy through potential barriers.
